Our Programs & Registration
The GHAA Basketball Program normally consists of the options listed below and GHAA is planning to run these programs for the 2022-2023. Please understand, GHAA and Anne Arundel County Rec and Parks utilizes Anne Arundel County Public School (AACPS) facilities. AACPS can limit our programs’ access to school gyms at any time if they determine such action is necessary in light of the Covid 19 pandemic.
In-House Clinic Program – Fee $80.00
This co–ed program is designed for boys and girls in kindergarten. The Clinic program will practice one night a week. Depending on numbers, there is a possiblity of a second weeknight/Saturday game. The start date for Clinic is to be determined.
Community League – Fee $100.00
The Community League is for first and second graders. The Community teams will practice two nights a week and play games primarily on Saturdays, but it is possible there may be a Sunday game.
The number of GHAA community teams will be determined based on registration numbers and availability of coaches. This league offers a girls division and a boys division and competes against teams from area athletic associations. However, it is possible to have a co-ed team should the numbers not support separate teams.
Start dates for practices and games is to be determined.
County League – Fee $165.00
The County League offers play to both boys and girls. To participate in the County League, players MUST be 8 years old prior to competing in a County league game. The County league offers leagues from 8U – 13U (generally 3rd grade – 8th grade).
The number of teams in each age group will be determined by registration numbers and availability of coaches.
The start date for practices and games is to be determined.

County league teams will have two practices a week and play games on Saturday. Some teams may have Sunday games, but that will be communicated by the coach as the season gets closer. The County has yet to announce the start date for the season.
County Play is leveled in the following manner:
C League – recreational level
B League – competitive level
A League – AAU/Travel teams
For players registering to participate on any team at the 8U level and higher, GHAA will be hosting an evaluation night. This evaluation will allow the coaches to best fit the players to an appropriate level of play. This will allow players to have the best basketball experience possible for them. A schedule for evaluations will be communicated once a start date for the season has been determined.
Eligibility to play is determined by the player’s age as of September 1st…meaning if your son or daughter turns 9 on or after September 2nd, they are eligible to play on the 8U team. AACP&R requires that all players be a minimum age of 8 before participating in their county sponsored league For those not old enough to play we will have our clinic and community league.
Registration coming soon…the button below will be active once registration is open. We are still awaiting gym permits. Open gym/evaluations will be held in October for our Competitive County Programs. Formal practices will begin in November. Games will begin in December and end in late February.
